Dr Binh Tran

Dr Tran is a registered specialist periodontist. He completed his pharmacy degree with first class honours from Monash University in 1999 and dentistry degree with first class honours from the University of Queensland in 2003. During his undergraduate studies at the University of Queensland, Binh received the Deans Commendation for high achievement each year and was also awarded three prizes, SDI prize for dental materials, Carlisle C Bastian prize for prosthodontics and the AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals prize for dental anaesthesia. After three years in general private practice in Melbourne, Binh was accepted into the specialist training program at the University of Melbourne, successfully completing his clinical doctorate in the field of periodontics in 2009. He is also a fellow by examination of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the general (2006) and specialist stream (2009).
Dr Tran is an accredited practitioner at Peninsula Private Hospital and Linacre Private Hospital.
He has presented at a number of ADA Group Meetings, Specialist Study Club meetings and has published a number of articles in international journals. Dr Tran has also been an external examiner for the final year postgrad students at the University of Melbourne. His areas of interests are non-surgical and surgical periodontal treatment, regenerative periodontal treatment, surgical extractions, implant surgery and bone augmentation surgery.
